The Lafourche Cajun Band is based in Lockport, LA, in the heart of Lafourche Parish, approximately forty five minutes south of New Orleans. We play traditional and contemporary French Cajun Music (with a dash of zydeco) and have been proudly doing so for the past 19 years. We play somewhat regularly throughout the southeast Louisiana region for both public and private functions and do occasionally travel outside of our beloved homeland to various festivals to treat some of our neighboring states to a taste of "La Joie de Vivre". We released our first record in 1992 and our first (and only cassette album) entitled "Le Chemin de Fer" featuring our original release "La Pointe a Saucisse", on the Lanor Label, in 1994 and have just released our first CD, called "A Taste Of Lafourche" on June 16th 2005. The Lafourche Cajun Band has performed for tour groups, private parties, conventions, local fairs and festivals, numerous Cajun French Music Association functions, such as the Le Cajun Awards in Lafayette, LA. We also performed at The Panama City Mardi Gras Celebration, The BayTowne Wharf (San Destin) Mardi Gras Celebration, The Bayou Boogaloo Festival in Norfolk VA, The Lower Alabama Crawdad Festival in Ozark Alabama, The Swamp Fest at Audubon Zoo-New Orleans, Super Bowl Saturday in New Orleans, LA at the Aquarium for CBS Sports, the Tomato Festival in New Orleans, LA, The Shrimp and Petroleum Festival in Morgan City, LA, BoomTown Casino in Biloxi MS, Casino Magic in Bay St. Louis MS, The Azelea Trail Run and the First Night Mobile in Mobile AL, First Night Jackson, Jackson MS, The Old Town Spring Crawfish Festival in Spring Texas, Vermillionville, a popular Cajun attraction in Lafayette, LA, The Louisiana Music Festival in Houma, LA, and the nationally televised show, "The New Original Amateur Hour" at Universal Studios in Orlando, FL.
