Divin' Duke

What is a Divin’ Duke, you ask? Well, Divin’ Duke and his group of miscreants are the type of band that you might find at a back yard BBQ or neighborhood crawfish boil. Sometime around dusk, after the drinks have been flowing all day, somebody brings out their old guitar and starts playing everyone’s favorite songs, even the forgotten ones. Well, it doesn’t take long before a few other folks dig out their instruments and there before you stands Divin’ Duke and the 51 Knights. A little later, all the kids have been put to bed, some more folks have shown up with another full cooler, and your wife is eyein’ up The Duke. Well, who can blame her…he is, after all, the honky-tonk legend, and he’s in playing your back yard!

Playing all of your favorite hits from back before you had a mortgage, Divin’ Duke provides the full entertainment package. All of the songs are dancing favorites, with a few slow rollers thrown in for some close, personal time with your partner. The songs are all sing-a-long favorites that everyone remembers and a few that you didn’t even know that you knew the words to. The list ranges from Elvis, Fats Domino, and Jerry Lee Lewis to The Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, and David Allen Coe. These guys will play whatever they know and some they don’t. If someone in the crowd wants to hear a song that the band doesn’t normally play, they’ll try their best to make it happen and most times it sounds pretty good. As every party should be, an evening spent with Divin’ Duke and his boys is a night of fun and memories.
That’s right, folks…Divin’ Duke and the 69’ers:
Come for the party, Stay for the music.
